Material 1.4462
Duplex Superduplex
"The material 1.4462 is an austenitic ferritic stainless steel. The material belongs to the group of duplex steels. 1.4462 is the most popular and most commonly used duplex grade. The two-phase structure brings together the positive properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. These properties are evident in the good Corrosion resistance and the high strength values. The material is widely used in the oil and chemical industry, in the construction industry, in shipbuilding, in mechanical engineering and in the paper and pulp industry. The Pren value for the material 1.4462 is between 30.85 and 38.07% .The Pren value indicates how corrosion-resistant stainless steel is to corrosion. The material is considered resistant to seawater from a Pren value of 32. The Pren value is calculated using the formula: %Cr + 3.3XMo + 16x%N . 1.4462 has a density of 7.8 (g/cm³)."
