Material 1.4501
Duplex Superduplex
"The material 1.4501 is an austenitic ferritic stainless steel. The material belongs to the group of super duplex steels. The two-phase structure brings together the positive properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. These properties are reflected in the good corrosion resistance and the high strength values. 1.4501 is often used if the resistance of grade 1.4462 is not sufficient. The material is widely used in the chemical industry, in the oil industry, water management, on and offshore industry. The Pren value for the material 1.4501 is between 38 - 46%. Value indicates how corrosion-resistant a stainless steel is to corrosion. The material is considered resistant to seawater from a Pren value of 32. The Pren value is calculated using the formula: %Cr + 3.3XMo + 16x%N. 1.4501 has a density of 7.8 (g/cm³)."
