The material 1.7160 / 16MnCrB5 is a chromium-manganese alloyed case-hardening steel and is very often used in vehicle construction.
The material owes its properties to the added boron.
Boron ensures increased hardenability.

Heat Treatment
The soft annealing should take place at a temperature between 650 - 700 C°.
If you want to case harden this material, the temperature should
be between 880 and 980 C°. Then the material must
