Case-hardening steels according to DIN 20MnCr5.
1.7147 can be machined very well.
This material is used with the aim components
with a wear-resistant surface and a tough core
to manufacture.

Material Category: Case hardening steel

Applications

Gear and joint parts, gears, crown and bevel gears, shafts, bolts, pins of larger dimensions and similar parts for higher core strength

Heat Treatment

Soft annealing takes place at a temperature of 650 - 700 C°
Tempering takes place at a temperature of 170 - 210 C°
Case hardening takes place at a temperature of 900 - 950 C°
Single hardening takes place at a temperature of 850 - 880 C°

Weldability

1.7147 is usually weldable.
